ABOUT US
Annual Report.
Our 2007 Annual Report highlights the Council’s year-long efforts generated to provide value to our members and drive success. Consistent with our strategic framework, the Annual Report reflects the elements of knowledge, community, resources and advocacy – the principles that serve as the cornerstone of Council offerings.
Bridging Opportunities
In 2007, the Council’s board of directors assessed the Council’s partnership with our previously nested organizations (Catalyst Connection, Doyle Center for Manufacturing Technology and the Pennsylvania NanoMaterials Commercialization Center).
Despite this major change in our organizational structure, our efforts have not diminished to partner with our former umbrella organizations; on the contrary. We are now positioned to better leverage our internal resources and dedicate energy towards developing programs with our partners that aid our members’ successes.
All in the Numbers
Despite being a transition year for the Council, 2007 was also one which saw tremendous regional success through key initiatives. Some key highlights of 2007 include:
- Assisted 30 manufacturers from 10 countries save an aggregate of $90,000 in payroll for summer interns.
- Drove a reduction of 2008 business taxes by more than $203 million.
- Awarded $87,500 in cash prizes to technology entrepreneurs competing and winning the EnterPrize Business Plan Competition.
- Saved member companies a potential aggregate savings of $5.8 million in recruiting costs through the Council Career Center.
The Next Generation
The Council also hired President and CEO, Audrey Russo as its chief officer in October, 2007. Since this time, a strong emphasis has been placed on providing and adding valuable services for members and facilitating key Council partnerships that help to sustain our industry, and our region, for years to come.
