Annual Highlights Report
Our 2011 Annual Highlights Report looks at the Council’s year-long efforts generated to provide value to our members and drive success. Consistent with our strategic framework, the Report reflects key elements of productivity - business development, government relations, talent and visibility – offerings that serve as the cornerstone of Council membership.
All in the Numbers
The Council continued its recent success in 2011, effectively delivering member value through its four service platforms of Business Development, Talent, Government Advocacy and Visibility. Some key highlights include:
- In 2011, the Council provided more than 670 business-development oriented services to its members through diverse and innovative channels such as business development missions and technology partnership programs. Of this total, 327 unique member companies were provided with business development assistance.
- The Council’s government affairs team played a major role in a $20 million increase in Pennsylvania's R&D Tax Credit and enacted a 1 mil reduction in the capital stock and franchise tax in 2011.
- In 2011: nearly 500 firms utilized the Pittsburgh Career Connector site; 25,000 average monthly visits; more than 13,000 resumes
are on file.
- Provided member companies with 1,100 total visibility opportunities across all media channels.
