Insurance
Beginning the first of the month following initiation of employment, employees
and their dependents are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits and
employees eligible life and accidental death and dismemberment; and long-term
disability insurance.
401(k) Savings Plan
Following three full months of service, employees are eligible to participate in
the Council 401(k) plan. Our 401(k) plan offers a generous company match of up
to six percent.
Flexible Work Schedules
During the summer months when the sun shines past 6 p.m., employees have the
option to rearrange their work hours to make the most of the daylight and the
summer weather.
Paid Time Off
Employees are eligible for at least 10 and up to 25 days of paid vacation time
based upon length of service.
Performance Planning and Incentive Compensation
In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for an annual incentive
compensation bonus, based on both individual and organizational performance. The
payment of incentive compensation will be evaluated each year.
Professional Development and Training
Employees are encouraged to pursue professional development and / or training
through conferences, seminars and various educational events in order to enhance
their skills and abilities and make them even greater assets to the
organization. Employees are able to attend Council-hosted events at no charge.
Tuition Reimbursement
Full-time staff members can be reimbursed for completing job-related college
course work (undergraduate and / or graduate level) subject to various
conditions.

Preferred Location and Parking
Pittsburgh Technology Council offices are a part of the Pittsburgh Technology
Center on the site of the former J&L Steel Works. Just minutes away from
downtown Pittsburgh, the South Side and Oakland, our building is among the
collection of cutting edge companies who call the Technology Center home. Our
offices are modern and clean with great views of the Mon River and the downtown
skyline – and more importantly we offer free parking!
Dress Code
Our environment is dynamic with the goal of making all employees as comfortable
as possible in the workplace, while maintaining a high professional standard.
Employees without external meetings are encouraged to come to work in jeans so
they remain relaxed throughout the day.
Healthy Living
The Council’s Wellness Committee is a team-driven initiative that works in
conjunction with our health benefits provider to give staff access to health
screenings and a variety of other programs that promote healthy living and
wellness for our employees.
Going the Extra Mile
Council employees are rewarded for hard work and extra effort. Every supervisor
is empowered to present “On the Spot Awards” as tokens of appreciation and
recognition when an employee demonstrates the qualities and characteristics that
make our team shine. An “On the Spot Award” can mean a free car wash, an ice
cream cone or a pass to leave early or come in late to work.
Connecting with the Community
Throughout the year, Council staff participates in various community-oriented
events with the United Way and the American Cancer Society. The Council also
sponsors on-site blood drives for Pittsburgh’s Central Blood Bank.
