The 2013 Design, Art and Technology (DATA) Awards Gala & Interactive Exhibition Party

The Pittsburgh Technology Council wants YOU to join Pittsburgh’s biggest innovation party of the year:

FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE.

This year’s event features public voting and a new interactive exhibition party after the awards ceremony. Join us -- and some of our region’s most ingenious creative techies -- for a party like no other. Get ready for a mash-up of networking, interactivity and inspiration -- and a full night of mixing and mingling; Featuring over of 40 of this year’s most innovative art and technology projects, door prizes and surprises, food, fun and the music of sound architect, Bill Stankay.

Our presenter -- journalist, author, filmmaker and former CNN Bureau Chief, Chip Walter -- has written four books, explorations of human creativity and curiosity. Walter draws on new scientific discoveries to explore how our successful human “design” is directly linked to creativity, our shared inventiveness and a new kind of mind. His new book, Last Ape Standing, is an investigation of why we do, feel, and think the things we do as people–good and bad, ingenious and cunning, heroic and conflicted.

“Nearly every page offers something that will surprise or intrigue you…You’ll never see yourself or anyone else the same way again.” ~ Futurist Ray Kurzweil, who plans to join the Creative Technology Network in Pittsburgh in 2013.
