The 2017 STEM Summit is a one-day event designed to bring together education leaders with technology companies from the Pittsburgh area to see STEM in action.
At this year’s event STEM Summit attendees will have the opportunity to not only talk about cutting edge STEM education practices, but all attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and visit some of the most exciting technology companies in the region to get a taste of what it is like to work in the STEM sector.
Tour locations this year include: Inventionland, Uber, Google Pittsburgh, Simcoach and Fab Lab at Carnegie Science Center

1:00-2:30 pm: Tours & Presentations begin @ Host Companies
2:30 pm: Break and board buses to return back at PTC
3:15 pm: Arrive back at Pittsburgh Technical College, depart for home
About your Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Georgia Teppert is currently the Assistant to the Superintendent at the Greater Latrobe School District. Georgia has been in education for 29 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health, Physical Education and Dance from Slippery Rock University, a Master's Degree in Education and Administration fromCalifornia University of Pennsylvania, Supervisory Certificate in CU1Ticulum and Instruction and Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh.
Prior to entering administration, Georgia taught Health and Physical Education and coached various sports at Valley School of Ligonier and Southmoreland Senior High School. She served as an assistant high school principal for 10 years in the Richl and , Ligonier Valley and Greater Latrobe School Districts, and was the senior high school principal for six years at Greater Latrobe. Georgia also serves as an adjunct professor with Delaware Valley College. In her current position of Assistant to the Superintendent, her responsibilities include secondary curriculum and instruction as well as human resources.
Georgia is extensively involved in her school-community. She is a member of the board for the Latrobe Art Center in which she held the office of Presidency for five years, and serves as a member of the Greater Latrobe Ati Conservation Trust. Georgia has served on several community non -profit committees, and regularly volunteers her time to assist various civic organizations. Georgia and her husband Ernie reside in Latrobe, PA with their 12 year old daughter Arielle.
