As Business Owner’s Needs Evolve, Council Provides Valuable Services
Just Between Friends, Inc.
Just Between Friends used the Council’s internship program, and took part in both the Council’s Angel Venture Fair and EnterPrize competition.
Just Between Friends is a Web-based suite of services that makes life easier for parents and helps the communities to which they belong.
Challenge
David Radin, president of Just Between Friends, Inc., had a long-term relationship with the Pittsburgh Technology Council, attending networking events and making presentations at Council events. When he had two immediate questions – how could he find a reliable intern, and how could he learn about Angel funding – the Council was the first place he turned for answers.
Solution
Just Between Friends used the Council’s internship program, and took part in both the Council’s Angel Venture Fair and EnterPrize competition.
Results
The internship program enabled Radin to find an intern without spending a lot of his valuable time. The Angel Venture Fair and EnterPrize competition helped him take his business to the next level. Both the fair and the competition empowered him to develop a strategic approach to his future. Learning how angel investors and VCs make their decisions, how they think and what they look for, provided Radin with valuable insights. Since he joined the Council in the mid 1990s, Radin has been impressed with the personal interest the Council has taken in his business.
