Hi Jonathan, thanks for your participation with TEQ! Your company, NVIZN IT, LLC, redefines the paradigm of IT outsourcing. Explain to our avid readers NVIZN’s successful niche in the IT marketplace
NVIZN IT was created to allow companies to focus on what they do best and let the technology run in the background, supporting the business instead of becoming a nuisance. Companies need to be able to run email, store valuable documents, update software, fulfill basic compliance requirements – and much, much more. When a company’s technology fails, it usually brings production to a halt, resulting in lower billable hours, potential lost sales and increased capital expenditure to remediate problems.
Is there an interesting story behind the founding of NVIZN? If so, please explain.
NVIZN is really a classic new company scenario. Jake Mitchell and I sat around a table in an Eat'n Park last year discussing how ill-served the small to midsize business community was with regards to technology. There is the traditional IT staff…expensive, and with small companies you tend to get jack-of-all-trades master-of-none staff; they can keep the lights on, but leveraging emerging technologies for business process improvement is usually not a strength. There are the traditional outsourced IT companies; usually piecemeal, and have a more difficult time understanding the longer-term business vision and non-IT related strategies of their clients. At the same time, current technologies such as Server Virtualization, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, the current state of Open Source Software, high-speed / low cost / reliable broadband Internet connections, all are coming together to make the thought of a comprehensive, cloud delivered platform with enterprise class support on the back end very appealing. Our vision is that every company can leverage these technologies and strategies to either improve their business process, cut costs, or both. We partner with our clients to understand their businesses, see how we can apply technology intelligently and deliver long term value focused on meeting their business goals. We think we have built a better mouse trap, and the feedback we are getting from our customers seems to support that!
The name NVIZN is quite unique and clever. Can you explain how you settled on it?
NVIZN is a takeoff on the word “Envision.” The name NVIZN came about because of the implications of thinking about doing technology within your organization differently. Envision what technology can do for you when leveraged properly; envision being able to focus on your core business and not your technology; envision a network that boosts your bottom line; envision a complete technology partner with a predictable, affordable monthly investment. These are more than just catchy marketing phrases…these are the tenets, values and promises of NVIZN.
Why is NVIZN’s IT utility model superior to traditional IT service provider models?
In addition to our nearly 100 years of combined experience, NVIZN has created a culture – from top to bottom – of the best people with the best expertise. We truly become our clients’ technology partner and work with them to create a customized program that will meet all of their technology needs.
Because we’re local and offer a personalized level of service, including 24/7 support in person, online, via chat, or remotely, our clients trust us with their most important assets – information and communication. We offer on-site training, enterprise-level technology services and guaranteed costs savings from day one. Our competitors may offer a smattering of these benefits, but with us they get the whole package. We care about our clients’ everyday and long-term goals. When their technology runs seamlessly, employees can focus on what’s most important – their core business.
How does 2009 look for your company? Are you currently looking to expand?
We see extreme growth in our future. In fact, we are planning to increase staffing by at least 200 percent in the first quarter of this year. Our reach currently spans to western Pennsylvania and parts of Ohio and West Virginia; we plan to further expand into all of Pennsylvania and the surrounding states. Eventually, we see ourselves having a nationwide reach.
In terms of client base, do you have a sweet spot or are your services advantageous to businesses across multiple industries?
Any business in the small- to medium-sized range will benefit from our services. However, because of the sensitive material in medical and law offices, we really see these as niche markets. These types of businesses could benefit immensely from our security capabilities.
Companies are under increased pressure to effectively manage the lifecycle of corporate email. Federal regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Gramm-Leach-Bailey Act (GLBA) are making it mandatory for companies to comply with stringent policies and guidelines. Companies can trust us to make sure they have all the tools necessary to be compliant on their end.
Companies with employees from 1 – 300 utilize our services. Our pricing model is set up so that a company pays per user. This is literally affordable to the individual person running a small business from his or her home to a larger office with hundreds of desktops.
