Eaton, a power-management company, hosted its 2017 Industrial Controls in Motion mobile tour July 25 at its Electrical Headquarters in Moon Township.

The mobile exhibit featured four interactive demos arranged by commercial and industrial application environments. Live demo areas included a redundant VFD HVAC system, a multi-booster pump system, a material handling conveyor and a mixing and separating process.

The 40-foot trailer was outfitted with on-board generator power and a retractable awning. The trailer’s application environment consisted of complete Eaton solutions spanning the Industrial Controls Division, Eaton’s circuit protection components, motor control centers (MCCs), B-line cable tray systems and Crouse-Hinds explosion-proof enclosure solutions.

“Pittsburgh, with the shift of industry that’s occurred, is one of those cities that’s leading the way for advanced manufacturing and utilizing new technologies to improve the way that manufacturing is done,” said Rob Fenton, Eaton’s Advanced Controls Solutions Manager. “It’s a great place for the trailer to be to educate our customers on the types of solutions we’ve developed.”

Representatives from the Carnegie Science Center were on hand to assist spectators in understanding the importance of investing talent and resources in advanced technology solutions, like those provided by Eaton.

In January, the Industrial Controls in Motion trailer made its first stop in Las Vegas at the 2017 Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Exposition. The trailer is also planned to visit other selected cities including Milwaukee and Cleveland. The tour will conclude in November with a final visit to Fresno, Calif.
