Mark SundayHe’s in the worldwide pantheon of chief information officers.

His team strives to be the first adopter, biggest influence and best promoter of relevant Oracle technologies.

He is Mark Sunday.

And Sunday came to Pittsburgh to address the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s member CIOs and tech executives as part of the CIO Insights series.

Sunday provided his unique perspective on why embracing the cloud is one of the most critical decisions a company can make to remain relevant and successful.

He backed it up with a few startling predictions. By 2025 Sunday predicts:

  • 100 percent of enterprise data will reside in the cloud.
  • 100 percent of development and testing will happen in the cloud.
  • 80 percent production apps will be in the cloud.
  • There will be 80 percent drop in corporate-owned data centers.
  • 80 percent of the market will be owned by two suite providers.
  • 80 percent of IT budgets will be on cloud.

This gave the sold-out audience a lot to think about. The movement to the cloud appears to be as inevitable as ever. Embrace it!
