Open Streets Pittsburgh to close city streets for play on July 20

Article Published: June 30, 2014

On July 20th, from 8 am - 12 pm, rain or shine, Open Street Pittsburgh will hold its first pilot event. Downtown streets from Market Strret to the Clemente Bridge will be open for everyone to enjoy with free activities including yoga, Zumba, dance classes, a climbing wall and much more.

Open Streets Pittsburgh is a free event that will close the roads to cars so that people can walk, skate, dance, play, and be recreational and social on our amazing Pittsburgh streets! Think of it as turning our streets into a park for everyone for a limited time. The Open Streets Committee has been planning this event for some time.  While this year’s pilot is shorter, its a prequel to a series of bigger (or longer) Open Streets that we will be organizing in 2015.
