Robert Seiner, Pittsburgh-based Data Governance Specialist, Takes a Non-Invasive Approach to Big Data and Metadata Management

Article Published: November 3, 2014

Data Governance is a form of formal supervision being employed by businesses in terms of Big Data and Metadata Management. Big Data and Metadata are in the news every day.  Most organizations are focusing on improving their capabilities in these areas.

Bob Seiner of KIK Consulting & Educational Services - a Pittsburgh-based consultancy, teaches businesses how to govern the data associated with Big Data and Metadata efforts and how to benefit from and safeguard their most valuable data. Seiner has worked with local, national and global businesses in numerous industries to deploy data governance and metadata programs and he would be honored to share that experience with you.

Seiner focuses on Non-Invasive Data Governance™, an approach that emphasizes formal authority and accountability to manage data as a valued, organizational asset. More often than not, data governance and metadata efforts focus on inappropriate things like command and control, and invasive practices that threaten the productivity and culture of organizations.

Seiner hosts a monthly webinar series titled Real-World Data Governance (since 2012) attracting close to 500 people per session and has re-upped for a fourth year in 2015. Seiner will be featured at the Data Governance Winter Conference in Ft. Lauderdale on December 8-9, will be featured in the December TEQ Magazine cover story and will begin a regular column in TEQ Magazine in early 2015.

Seiner’s new book, "Non-Invasive Data Governance: The Path of Least Resistance and Greatest Success," delivers a comprehensive set of tools to deliver a successful, data-governance program.
