Promote Energy Independence
Member companies will continue receiving electricity service from their local utility or electric suppliers without interruption.
Members may purchase quantities of renewable energy certificates in small discreet blocks, greening their energy consumption to a level of their own choice.
Alternative Energy Credits purchased from the PTC will be recognized by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and the regional power pool as fully meeting the State requirements for Alternative Energy Certificates.
Reduce Carbon Footprint
Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are simple, effective tools for reducing your carbon footprint and gaining recognition for your organization.
PTC Green is 100% Pennsylvania Wind helping the economy of Pennsylvania through construction and permanent job creation, contributions to local and state tax rolls, and ongoing goods and services which are procured locally.
More than 100,000 families and businesses make the choice for cleaner air, greater energy independence, and a more secure energy future. Wind energy is the fastest growing energy source worldwide and has the potential to economically produce more than 25% of the electricity generated in America. Together, we can make a difference.
It’s easy to communicate the environmental leadership of your business, organization, academic institution or government agency with the help of our experienced renewable energy marketing team.
What is an REC?
Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) represent the environmental and economic value of electricity produced from clean, renewable, emission-free energy sources, like wind power, that are safe for our environment and will never be depleted. In Pennsylvania, these attributes are referred to as Alternative Energy Credits (AECs).
RECs act like a form of currency that ensure your energy is matched with clean renewable power. For every REC sold, an equivalent amount of renewable electricity is placed onto the power grid.
Your purchase contributes to the growth of the renewable energy sector and will continue to help make renewable energy more cost competitive.
