Apprenti PGH Apprenticeship Info Session

Are you looking for a pathway into a career in tech? Join us for an informational session to learn more about the first registered tech apprenticeship in Pennsylvania. 

As the fastest-growing industry in the world and in our region, 1 in 20 job openings occur in tech. Apprenti PGH is a unique apprenticeship program that puts apprentices on a straightforward, step-by-step path towards a well-paying job and career in tech. Local tech employers are seeking to diversify their workforce and develop new talent.  To serve our employer partners, Apprenti PGH is actively recruiting underrepresented minorities, women, people of color, veterans, disabled, and displaced workers— although anyone is eligible to apply.

The only requirement to apply is that you must be at least 18 years or older and be registered to work in the US.
• To get started, take the Apprenti PGH online assessment. 
• Pass the assessment with a minimum score of 80% and advance to interviews with one of our employer partners.
• Once matched, you’ll be offered an apprenticeship role with that employer and begin your 14 weeks of technical training with either Academy Pittsburgh or TechElevator.
• After the bootcamp training, you will begin one year of on-the-job training portion of apprenticeship. 
• Earn a living wage during the boot camp training. 
• During on-the-job training, earn 60% of the full-time salary of this tech role within the first 6 months, increasing to 70% after 6 months. 
• During the on-the-job training, multiple staff mentors work with apprentices to develop a personal success strategy intended to identify and overcome potential barriers to success.

After completion your apprenticeship, you’ll have the skills and experience to qualify to be retained by your employer.
