Educator Industry Insights is a quarterly professional development series designed to bridge the gap between education and industry. Each session connects educators with the STEM industry to explore workforce trends, gain hands-on experience, and bring real-world applications into the classroom. The series equips educators with tools and insights to better prepare students for in-demand careers and emerging technologies.
Our first session, in collaboration with Design to Make a Difference (D2MD), will focus on Maker Education and its power to create social impact. The D2MD program is centered on using these tools to create products that help people, ensuring those exposed to this technology see the power it has to better the lives of people. This PD will focus on learning to use 3D printers (donated to each school) and the basics of CAD modeling with a focus on Assistive Technology to help individuals with physical disabilities.
