RELIEF SHIPMENT DELIVERED TO UKRAINIAN MINISTRY OF HEALTH IN LVIV

As missiles struck an aircraft maintenance facility in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv last Friday, BBF’s relief shipment of critically needed medicines and wound care supplies was forcibly rerouted but still successfully delivered to the Ukrainian Ministry of Health (MOH).

The four truckloads of Highmark/AHN medicines and medical supplies, complemented by Giant Eagle’s medical donation, are now being deployed by the MOH in areas ravaged by war. BBF will continue the Ukraine relief efforts in three ways:

1. Additional air shipments of medicines and medical supplies to the Ukrainian MOH.

2. Air shipments of humanitarian supplies for refugees at reception centers in Poland and Romania, along with in-country purchases of relief supplies as necessary.

3. Continued support of local partners in Ukraine, Poland and Romania, who are operating medical facilities and providing humanitarian aid. Highmark/AHN is continuing its robust response by providing additional medicines and medical supplies. These will be supplemented by Grane Rx, along with potential donations from other health systems.

Giant Eagle is providing baby food, wipes, diapers, formula, disinfecting wipes, granola & grain bars, soap, hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Additionally, volunteer teams from UPMC, Grane Rx., Sewickley Academy, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and other community groups, will be assembling hygiene kits and providing new blankets for the refugees. Thanks to your generosity, the Ukraine Relief fund is now over $750,000 – triple BBF and the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s initial $250,000 target. We could not be more appreciative of your ongoing support to help the victims of this crisis who have to somehow cope and survive in such perilous circumstances.

100% of funds received for BBF’s response will be used to support emergency relief and logistics. Credit card donations can be made at www.brothersbrother.org by clicking on DONATIONS and choosing Ukraine Relief in the dropdown menu on the donations page. Checks should be made payable to Brother's Brother Foundation and sent to the address below. Please note Ukraine Relief in the memo field.
