Originally a cloud hosting company, A2U has grown into a full cloud hosting provider and IT consulting company. The company was recently purchased by FutureTech Holding, but has plans for continued growth in Cranberry. In addition to serving clients in the banking, legal, education and manufacturing sectors, 80% of A2U’s business comes from health care clients in New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Texas. “Workflow is important for health care,” said Dillman. “We watched emergency rooms to learn what really goes on, shadowed the ‘traffic cop’ role of doctors, nurses and volunteers, and saw why speed and efficiency was so important. We got away from the ivory tower, where you can become removed from understanding the actual need. “Instead of doctors logging in and waiting, we changed the IT so that doctors could just badge in to access patient records,” he said. ”Solutions like this require an understanding of workflows, the systems available, and how to make them connect better and faster. That’s how we’re able to bring solutions that users don’t even realize they can get. In this case, it’s moving doctors away from a computer focus to a patient focus, where it belongs and where they would prefer to be.”
