The Agency Worx is the newest member of the Pittsburgh Technology Council. We wanted to learn more about its unique position in the staffing/recruitment marketplace and why it chose Pittsburgh to be part of its growth strategy. Emily Martinez: I am a Pittsburgh girl at heart, but I moved to NYC and obtained my BS at FIT to pursue my passion within the creative and fashion industry. Throughout my 15 years in NYC, I had progressive career advancement within Sales & Business Management. My career led me to the Staffing & Recruitment industry for the past 10 years. I have recently relocated back to Pittsburgh to lead and support the launch of The Agency Worx as their SVP of Business Development. I am here to provide our expert recruitment services to the growing business of The Steel City. PTC: Give us the old elevator pitch on The Agency Worx. EM: Worx is a technologically progressive women-owned strategic staffing and workforce solutions, provider. We offer a fully tailored recruitment experience by successfully matching candidates to employers for more reliable, predictive hiring and optimization for future job performance. We provide our client's more actively engaged candidates, reliable data, and defined targets, all with a quicker and more accurate approach. PTC: It seems like The Agency Worx is unique in the marketplace! Tell us more about the type of talent you work with and the types of jobs you help fill. EM: Our clients are global leaders in the industries of Advertising, Marketing, Tech, Entertainment & Media, Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle Brands. Worx has a nationwide talent network, and a multi-region reach of highly skilled candidates that range from the contingent workforce, temp employment, freelance hires, direct-hire, temporary to permanent, and payroll services. Our specialized recruiters and team of industry experts fulfill roles with our clients for Design/Creative – (Creative Director, Art Director, UX/UI, Production Artists) Engineers – (Software, Full Stack, Front/Back-end & Android), Data & Analytics – (Scientists, Analysts & Security), IT – (Infrastructure Engineer, Desktop Support & Helpdesk Support), Marketing, PR & Communications, along with Project Management to just name a few. PTC: What attracted The Agency Worx to the Pittsburgh market? EM: Our understanding and capabilities within the creative recruitment industry have propelled us through a highly competitive market in NYC. The new boom of the tech industry in Pittsburgh gave way to our growth initiatives with me on the ground driving the success. We know talent, and we take a consultative approach in helping businesses thrive in this ever-changing business. We know this will provide positive outcomes to the tech industry disruptors in Pittsburgh. PTC: With 2020 just about here, what tech and hiring trends are you paying attention too? EM: Great question, as it is probably the most challenging question of all to answer because technology is always changing. It is also ever-changing us and how we work. Watching trends depends on our client's business needs. If Worx is recruiting for advertising and marketing agencies, perhaps it is the latest Smart Display Campaigns, or maybe it is the most recent development on a user interface or experience through Voice-User Experience and the continuation of AR (augmented reality), along with Biometric Authentication. If it is entertainment or media, perhaps we are watching streaming and video technology through Mobile In-Game Advertising, and technology within a fashion company continues to expand with Social Shopping & Visual Search along with Personalized Outreach through an advanced CRM. One thing is for certain; the only thing constant is change. Our philosophy is that if we are always evolving with our client community and have our finger on the pulse of their needs, we believe that it is a successful model to deliver the best talent to their business. Furthermore, we are always watching trends in staffing technology and the tools that we can use to enhance our service to our client's business, whether that is through more rapid and precise communication or the utilization of digital analytics to stay ahead of talent demands.
