Transformation Abounds in Johnstown

Today, Johnstown stands at the threshold of major transformation. Behind us we can look back and see great achievements, and before us we can see even greater promise.

We are filled with optimism about our present progress and future prosperity and are filled with absolute determination to coordinate efforts to work together.  I see positivity with the cooperation of municipalities, cooperation with economic development agencies, and with community leaders.

We strive to enhance economic vitality and innovation, ensure a high quality of life and caring for all citizens, manage growth and environmental leadership, and maintain excellence in governance and municipal management.

With this ambitious vision, exciting new initiatives and passionate community partners, the Johnstown area will continue to make great strides in shaping our region into one that is increasingly vibrant, innovative and sustainable.

While we are encouraging businesses and investors to look at the Johnstown area, we also know that we have to invest in our city’s transportation, infrastructure and our quality of life. Collectively we are fostering a vibrant and livable city.

The Point Stadium, the 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial, the YMCA, the YWCA and People’s Natural Gas Park are public facilities that shine a light on the character of the city and show people they made the right choice to live, work and recreate in Johnstown.

Equally as important, these amenities and public spaces tell potential investors and job creators looking to locate here that we put a premium on quality of life as a city.

People move to Johnstown for many reasons: our excellent schools, first-rate health care facilities, scenic beauty, tourism and proximity to Pittsburgh.

Johnstown residents enjoy a lifestyle that offers convenience, affordability and a community spirit that is difficult to find in larger cities. I invite you to come and see for yourself all that Johnstown has to offer. Once you arrive here, you won’t want to leave!
