TEQ One Mic Stand: RIDC's Don Smith Details Build Back Better Grant

Interview by Jonathan Kersting

The Pittsburgh region just received $62.7 million in federal funding as part of the Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant award from the U.S. Economic Development Administration.

Spearheaded by the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative, the funding is targeting five main projects for  initiatives aimed at providing long-term opportunities for people, businesses and communities in the region looking to get into the growing robotics and autonomy industries.

As part of the collaborative, Don Smith, President and CEO of RIDC, details the potential this funding could bring to the region. Our region is just one of 21 locations around the country that won such funding, which saw 529 initial applicants last fall.
